Sussex is located in the province of New Brunswick (NB), located on the east coast of North America and part of Atlantic Canada. New Brunswick is east of and shares several international border crossings with the State of Maine, such as Calais, ME at St. Stephen, NB which is about a 2 hour drive west of Sussex.

New Brunswick FlagNew Brunswick is also just north of the province of Nova Scotia, and the only way to actually drive to Nova Scotia without using a ferry is through New Brunswick. To our north is the Gaspe area of the province of Quebec.

New Brunswick’s neighbour to the east is Prince Edward Island, the land of “Anne of Green Gables”. PEI is connected to New Brunswick by the “Confederation Bridge”, the longest bridge in the Northern Hemisphere over water that freezes, (approximately 9 miles or 14 kilometers long).

The town of Sussex itself is in the southern part of New Brunswick, neatly situated between 3 larger NB cities. The provincial capital of Fredericton is about a 90 minute drive to the northwest of Sussex, the “Port City” of Saint John is a 45 minute drive westward, and the “Hub City” of Moncton a 45 minute drive east of Sussex.

Sussex is also about an hour from the beautiful Bay of Fundy, which features the highest tides in the world, the “Fundy Trail Parkway”, and “Fundy Provincial Park”. This gives Sussex another title as “The Gateway to the Fundy Experience”.
