Sussex has a great and friendly downtown area with lots of nice little shops and restaurants. Broad Street alone offers a unique shopping experience and features businesses such as a family bakery, a handmade soap shop, a natural food store, and a hardware store that's been operated by the same family since 1922. Downtown Sussex has several banks, book, music, sports, craft supply stores, clothing stores, just to mention a few.

The Sussex area has lots of beautiful older buildings, the Train Station, now the Visitor Information Center, the Sussex Town Hall, and the Coach House (shown at left) in Sussex Corner just to name a few.
